Our partner school in Quito is the oldest school and was founded in 1988. Quito is the capital of Ecuador at an altitude of 2850 meters. Lessons take place in small groups of between 2 and a maximum of 6 people. At the beginning you will take a placement test so that you are placed in a learning group according to your level. The local teachers have many years of experience and you will experience varied lessons with lots of exercises to help you get to grips with the language quickly.

In your host family you will have the opportunity to consolidate what you have learned.
Activities: A cooking course takes place once a week. Here you will cook delicious local dishes. You also have the opportunity to visit a dance teacher. Salsa is one of the most famous dances in South America. Thanks to well-trained dance teachers, you will be able to learn the first basic steps very quickly and will definitely be able to use them on your next visit to the disco. In the first week of your language course, you will have the opportunity to take part in an orientation session in which you will receive information about the country, the people and your immediate surroundings. If you have any questions you can of course contact the local staff at any time.
Of course you can also go on local excursions. We have already compiled a lot of information under country information. There are no lessons during local public holidays.

Unterkunft & Verpflegung
Gastfamilien:
Die Gastfamilie ist von der Schule sorgfältig ausgewählt und die Zusammenarbeit besteht schon seit Jahren. Während des Vormittages befindest du dich in der Sprachschule und kannst nachmittags direkt deine gelernten Kenntnisse umsetzen. Du erhältst zwei Mahlzeiten pro Tag, ein Mal pro Woche Wäscheservice. Hier kannst du die einheimische Küche und die Kultur perfekt kennenlernen. Deine Gastfamilie befindet sich bis zu 7-15 Minuten mit dem Bus entfernt, du kannst dies aber auch mit einem kleinen Spaziergang verbinden. Am ersten Tag wirst du von deinen Gasteltern zur Schule gebracht. Die Menschen in Costa Rica sind sehr gastfreundlich und lernen auch gerne etwas über andere und neue Kulturen. Daher eignen sich als Gastgeschenke auch sehr, einige Bilder deines Ortes und deines Heimatlandes sowie landestypische Spezialitäten.

All programs can be booked with friends. If you would like to book a program as a group, we recommend that you enquire in advance. Each person must book the project individually.
Ideal for all programs are at least three months in advance. In principle it is also possible for us to place short-term applicants (volunteering and language study travel) in Ecuador.
Ecuador is a safe country and the people are very friendly and warmhearted. In big cities, as in every big city in the world, there is petty crime. When travelling, the following things should be taken into account: always keep an eye on valuables, always keep your hand luggage on your lap in buses, and at night you should not travel by bus or withdraw money from ATMs. Up-to-date information on the situation can be found at the Embassy or Foreign Office.
Please note that in Ecuador all electronic devices can only be used with an adapter. They are available in many electronics stores.
In principle, no language course is mandatory in advance. However, depending on the volunteering program, certain levels of the language of your destination country may be required to complete the project. We would be happy to advise you individually on your chosen project.
Depending on the program, we work with host families in the vicinity or there are volunteer houses at the project site.
For all programs you have to be covered by foreign health insurance. We will be happy to help you find a suitable insurance policy.
During the language school and in the volunteering projects, you will always have a direct contact person to help you with any problems. Of course you can also always contact us.
