Description
In the kindergarten project in Mexico, you shape the education and future of our children. The ultimate goal is to raise the kids to become independent, happy and good people. As a volunteer, you will experience fulfilling days, support children with special needs, promote creativity and development through music, dance, art and English lessons. You will build self-confidence and help with art projects, as well as anything else that comes up on a daily basis. Even though the little bundles of energy often challenge you, there is hardly a more fulfilling task than giving the children a few unforgettable days. Your contribution is crucial to the education and lives of these children. You will be part of a committed community working for a better future and creating unforgettable experiences in Mexico in the process.

Living Arrangements
Accommodation with other volunteers
You will be accommodated in our volunteer accommodation just a few minutes’ walk from the preschool. You will have a well-equipped kitchen and sleep in cute single/twin rooms. A large market where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables is just around the corner. Here you can really find everything your heart desires – and more. There is also a large supermarket and many small stores and gyms in the immediate vicinity. Another highlight are the beaches, which you can walk to or take a “colectivo” to. Not far away is a surf spot that is very popular with backpackers. This is where young people meet to watch the sunset, skate, play volleyball, stroll from store to store or end the evening in one of the countless bars and restaurants
Typical day in a project
Volunteering on site – typical day in the project:
You work from Monday to Friday, from approx. 8 am to 1 pm. However, your exact working hours may vary depending on the needs of the project. Mexicans celebrate a lot of festivals, even big ones. So if you have the opportunity (no comma) to take part in one of the school festivals such as the “Día de los Niños”, you may be allowed to spend the afternoon or evening with your kids. At the weekends you are free to enjoy all the benefits of the Pacific coast.

All programs can be booked with friends. If you would like to book a program as a group, we recommend that you enquire in advance. Each person must book the project individually.
Ideal for all programs are at least three months in advance. In principle it is also possible for us to place short-term applicants (volunteering and language study travel) in Mexico.
Mexico is a safe country and the people are very friendly and warmhearted. In big cities, as in every big city in the world, there is petty crime. When travelling, the following things should be taken into account: always keep an eye on valuables, always keep your hand luggage on your lap in buses, and at night you should not travel by bus or withdraw money from ATMs. Up-to-date information on the situation can be found at the Embassy or Foreign Office.
Please note that in Costa Rica all electronic devices can only be used with an adapter. They are available in many electronics stores.
In principle, no language course is mandatory in advance. However, depending on the volunteering program, certain levels of the language of your destination country may be required to complete the project. We would be happy to advise you individually on your chosen project.
Depending on the program, we work with host families in the vicinity or there are volunteer houses at the project site.
For all programs you have to be covered by foreign health insurance. We will be happy to help you find a suitable insurance policy.
During the language school and in the volunteering projects, you will always have a direct contact person to help you with any problems. Of course you can also always contact us.
Insurances
Before you set off for Costa Rica, you should always take out travel health insurance, accident insurance, emergency insurance, liability insurance and, if possible, luggage insurance.
