National Park Conservation & Plastic-Free Oceans
Dive right into Costa Rican life! On arrival at the airport you will be picked up from one of our local partners and taken to your host family. Depending on the program you can book a language class in advance, which can last 1-4 weeks. Please keep in mind that you should have proficient language skills already when choosing just a 1 week class.
Working in a National Park
Look out nature fans - in Costa Rica ecotourism is the first priority! Due to its vast number of national parks and reserves in which one can find rain forests, coral reeves, cloud forests, mangrove swamps, dry forests and even Páramo, the country is a paradise for nature fans. The government itself is very active when it comes to the protection of the environment, especially the national parks. Working in a natural park, your tasks include, laying out new paths, the monitoring of plants and the animal population, as well as leading tours for tourists. For the duration of your stay you may live either with a host family or with your fellow voluntary workers in one of our accommodations.
Goals of this Project:
- Protect Costa Rica’s beautiful natural heritage
- Provide essential labor to help maintain park and reserve facilities
- Educate others on ecological practices
- Enable inter-cultural exchange which benefits both students and international volunteers alike.
Accommodation: We do have one volunteer house with six rooms. Four rooms are equipped with two bunks for four-person in total and there are two rooms with three bunks for a capacity of six people each. From the house, you have a beautiful view of the ocean, especially in the morning hours.
