Transportation

Cab

Cabs in Mexico City have had a bad reputation for several years. For safety, it is better to travel by radio cabs. On the street, keep the following in mind: The cab should be white with only one other color, orange or green; and have an official cab plate. License plates are placed at the back and on the side.

Buses

For longer trips, it is recommended to book first class or luxury class. In these classes you are guaranteed a seat and many buses do not stop at every corner, which makes traveling a lot easier. The ticket should be bought at least one day in advance. In the bigger cities there are bus stations called: "central camionera" or "central de autobuses". Tickets can also be purchased directly here.

Metro and streetcar

These run from 5/6 in the morning until midnight. It is a cheap and fast alternative to get to places of interest in Mexico City.
