The NGO (non-profit non-governmental organization) committed to young women and young children from difficult social and economic backgrounds. The organization opened a new community center in 2016 to be as close as possible to its target audience and provide help where it most needed. The Day Care Center is located in Arusha's densely populated Mianzini district.
Working hours & areas
Working hours and everyday working life are largely flexible, which is especially beneficial for volunteers who would like to work independently and prefer a free time schedule.
Tutoring of young people who come to the center after school in the afternoon to continue learning (until about 16.30).
Fundraiser to renovate and expand the center for example design of the classrooms with pedagogically meaningful material.
Public Relations: updating homepage profiles for and Facebook page to keep sponsors up to date and gain future backers. This includes the creation and updating of profiles for children who are looking for international sponsors (there is a small office available for work, but it is advantageous to bring your own laptop and USB stick for public relations).
Conceptual and future planning for individual young mothers who would like to stand on their own two feet in the long term (this includes discussions about personal prospects and ideas, specific planning, for example school or college or job search, help with budget planning, etc.).
Accommodation: You will stay at our volunteer house with other volunteers together. At the volunteer house their are 6 dorm rooms, 4 bathrooms (western toilets and almost always warm showers), a big communal rooms and an outside area for sitting together and enjoying the leisure time with fellow volunteers.
