Working with children
In Peru, we offer various projects in the social field. You can help children learn English or work as an assistant teacher e.g. in physical education. The main focus of these social projects is to provide the kids with a role model, to play with them and to give them a perspective.
General tasks and working hours:
Schools: Choosing a social project in a school includes working as an assistant teacher.
Kindergarten: Your main tasks will include taking care of the kids, playing with them, doing handicrafts, as well as helping to clean, cook or renovate.
The supervisors of each project would be happy to have your support! Working hours are dependent on the project, yet they vary from 4-5 hours in the morning. Please remember that schools in developing countries may feel disorganized and understaffed. Thats why your help is badly needed.
Volunteers on this project are accommodated with one of our friendly local host families, where breakfast and dinner of traditional Peruvian cuisine are provided daily. All families have experience hosting international volunteers. Living with a family is the best way to throw oneself into the local culture.
Students home: In Cusco we do have the option that volunteers could life as well in a students home. The home privites a shared kitchen where you could cook. Restaurants are close to the students home.
